Dawn 2.0.1 Release Notes 7/10/89
_______________________________
Changes to this note since Dawn 2.0:
EVERYONE READ THIS ALL!!!!!
DawnRestore is no longer fully necessary. It has been found to be necessary on some systems
though. But try not running before keeping it in. Sometimes Quickeys still doesn't work if
not run after DawnRestore, but the problems with ColorDesk have been solved, and you can now
place it anywhere in you INIT run. Problems were also discovered and solved with the Apple
CD-ROM INIT. Here is a list of the INITs that have been extensively tested with Dawn and what
-ORDER- they should run in:(note:with many of these INITs, the order doesn't matter, but sometimes
it is crucial. Also, Dawn is not the only cause of these problems, other INITs have incompatibilities,
and this has been found to be the best order for these INITs.)

If an INIT you use doesn't work and is not listed here, try putting it after DawnRestore,
and send e-mail to me on CompuServe or call me. Remember, Quickeys may work fine
on your System with Dawn. It varies. If you don't run any INITs after DawnRestore,
you don't need DawnRestore at all.
NOTE FOR SCREENER USERS: Screener 3.0 will be distributed in a later release.
Dawn 2.0 Notes:
•Installing Dawn™: put " Dawn™" and "¶DawnRestore" in your System Folder.
Use the Control Panel to adjust the settings, and if you need help, see the
online manual in Dawn's about box.
•At release time, there have been problems with the
following INITs:
QuicKeys™
DAMenus(all versions through 83)
ColorDesk™ (just put it after DawnRestore) (see Dawn 2.0.1 notes, this no longer applies)
Solutions:
Use INITPicker or manually rename the INITs in your System folder to a different
order. NEVER RENAME DAWN IF YOU ARE USING SPECIALLY COLORED PICTURES
OR PLAYING YOUR SOUNDS AFTER INITs. The above named INITs should all work
fine when run after the ¶DawnRestore file. You can rename them to do this by
placing some character before their name. On occasion, this will not fix the problem
with DAMenuz. Hopefully, this problem with either DAMenuz or Dawn will be fixed
soon. If you do not use pictures that don't use the System color look up table, and
you don't run your sounds After INITs, you can remove the ¶DawnRestore file.
Otherwise, it is very necessary. Also, it will be needed if you are running any of
the above named INITs. We are working on making these INITs compatible.
REMEMBER: Dawn is SHAREWARE, please lend your support!
